I wanted to produce a film title with a traditional themebased on Korean history. After researching events that have not been adapted into film or drama, I came across the Mokho Riot, which took place on Jeju Island in 1747 involving Mongolians living there. Despite its significance, the event was largely overlooked because it occurred on an island. Curious to learn more, I visited Jeju Island and discovered that the local citizens were aware of the incident and felt a strong sense of pride about it. I personally filmed ink drops and later used After Effects to combine them into the desired effects. By keeping the production simpler, I aimed to capture the essence of the event and its historical significance. ‘Oreum’ is a traditional word for mounds and small hills in Jeju island.

The opening sequence of my film follows a man who, after being bullied as a child, becomes a local hero in a small town. Inspired by Batman, he wears cheap costumes to fight crime, focusing on small-scale wrongdoings like kids smoking or teens buying cigars. Despite lacking powers, he acts upon his own sense of justice. The film's concept is B-movie style, featuring a lovable loser as the main character. It aims to convey the message of eliminating bullies, a prevalent issue in Korea.
